In my searching for the best poke on the island, I stopped at the Honaunau Poke Shop one evening for a try. While my bowl was being prepared, I noticed that the sun seemed unusually beautiful – thick, fiery white, and perfectly round – with only a few strands of pink cloud to attach it. Ran across the heavily trafficked road to see if it had any effect on the water below and was instantly transported. What I loved about this moment was how the water and the sky became one. The water was like a transparent stage showcasing the sun’s fleeting majesty and the sun became a spotlight, illuminating a distinct and stunning flame-colored path. Clarity is what I am in most need of right now, or is it courage to take the path I see? And such a delightful coincidence to see an African Tulip tree with the same shade of bloom in the foreground.
